Medhavi Skills University (MSU) marked World Youth Skills Day by convening the inaugural Skills First India Leadership Dialogue at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, bringing together representatives from industry, government and academia to discuss building a skills-first ecosystem aligned with the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Centred on the theme “Building a Skills First India: The Workforce Imperative for Viksit Bharat 2047,” the event featured two panel discussions examining the role of industry, education and public policy in preparing India’s workforce for future employment needs.
Speaking at the event, Pravesh Dudani, founder and chancellor of MSU, said the World Youth Skills Day theme, “Skills for a Shared Future,” highlighted the need for collaboration between education, industry and government to strengthen pathways from learning to employment.
Kuldip Sarma, co-founder and pro-chancellor of the university, said building a skills-first India required sustained partnerships and policy support to equip young people for the future of work.
The first panel, “Reimagining Talent for India’s Next Growth Story: An Industry Perspective,” was moderated by Devender K. Saini, chief strategy officer, Medhavi Group. Panellists included representatives from Ernst & Young, Spectrum Talent Management, Aptech, Emversity, PVR Inox and Learning Links Foundation. The discussion focused on work-integrated learning and stronger collaboration between employers, higher education institutions and policymakers.
The second panel, “From Vision to Execution: The Policy Roadmap for a Skills First India,” was moderated by Suchita Dutta, executive director, Indian Staffing Federation. Speakers included representatives from the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Medhavi Skills University, Podar Education Network and industry, who discussed policy frameworks, institutional partnerships and measures to support a skills-led economy.
The university said the leadership dialogue will serve as a continuing platform for discussions on skills development and workforce readiness in India.
