Delhi Police is considering action against social media posts containing abusive content targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, according to a police source.
The police may issue notices to social media platforms seeking the removal of posts, videos and comments found to be abusive.
According to the source, authorities have begun reviewing content uploaded during and after the protest. The Delhi Police’s Social Media Monitoring Team has been monitoring multiple social media platforms to identify objectionable content related to the protest.
Police are also examining whether any of the content violated the law or had the potential to disturb public order. If required, notices will be issued to platforms to remove the identified content, the source said.
