HPE hosted the 2026 edition of HPE Code Wars, its annual coding competition for school students, at its Mahadevapura campus in Bengaluru on July 29. More than 300 students from Classes 9-12 participated in the event, representing government and private schools from Bengaluru, Mysore, Mangaluru, Chennai and Kotagiri.

Participants competed by solving over 20 programming challenges using C, C++, Java and Python 3+, with the event aimed at providing students exposure to real-world coding and problem-solving.

Manoj Krishna Suseela, Vice President of Engineering, HPE Servers Business and India Site R&D Leader, said the competition was designed to encourage students to develop programming and problem-solving skills while gaining experience in a technology workplace.

The competition recognised top performers with advanced technology toolkits and national recognition. All participants received certificates, prizes and goodies collectively worth Rs 1.5 lakh.

Ishaan Som Singh and Rishikesh Muralimohan of Greenwood High International School were among the winners. They said the competition provided an opportunity to improve their programming skills and gain experience in tackling coding challenges under time constraints.

HPE Code Wars was first launched in Houston in 1998 and is now organised at HPE locations worldwide, including Roseville, Fort Collins, New Jersey, Taipei and Barcelona. According to the company, previous participants have gone on to study at institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
