This “Certificate Course” is primarily for Educators (Teachers / Wardens / House parents / House Mothers) working with children in schools, especially in a boarding / residential set up.

Objectives
01.
To equip educators (Teachers / Wardens / House parents / House Mothers) with the knowledge and skills needed to provide effective and quality pastoral care.
02.
To enable the educators (Teachers / Wardens / House parents / House Mothers) to effectively connect with the students by helping them to develop skills, such as active listening, empathy, compassion, conflict resolution and effective communication.
03.
To make the participants aware of the legal provisions, responsibilities and reporting procedures of "Child Rights and Child Protection".
04.
To teach and train the educators (Teachers / Wardens / House parents / House Mothers) on vital aspects of safety and security (emergency protocols and drills, crisis management and intervention).
05.
To help the educators (Teachers / Wardens / House parents / House Mothers) understand and manage "Personal Wellness".
Programme Information
01.
This "Certificate Course" is available to bona fide staff members of BSAI Member Schools only.
02.
Duration: The certificate programme will commence mid-September, 2026 and will conclude mid-August, 2027.
03.
Delivery mode: Online and offline through lectures, interactive sessions, sharing experiences, panel discussions and case studies. About 12 hours online and two days in person (to be hosted by any BSAI Member School/s).

Review Questionnaire: Periodical assessment will be done through online "Review Questionnaires" (three in total).
05.
A 1500 – 2000 word reflective essay (on how the participant will apply the knowledge about pastoral care gained through this course in their own educational setting to ensure students' wellbeing) to be submitted at the end of the course (by mid-August, 2027).
06.
Physical presence of the participant is a must for all online / offline sessions. It will be mandatory for the participant to keep her/his camera always on during the course of the online sessions.
07.
At the successful completion of the course a certificate will be awarded by BSAI and EW. Each participant will be graded based on her/his responses to "Review Questionnaire", level of participation in the offline sessions and the "reflective essay".
08.
If a participant misses out one or more modules, she/he will have to wait for the next cycle to complete that requirement.

Last date for submitting the registration form is Saturday September 12, 2026 (by 5.00 pm).

The first cohort will have no more than 30 participants. Acceptance of the registrations will be on "first-come, first-served basis".
11.
The fee for this certificate course is Rs. 27,500 (this fee does not include the travelling expenses incurred for attending the face to face workshop scheduled at the end of the course). Early bird discount of Rs. 2,500 will be offered to registrations done on or before Saturday September 5, 2026 (by 5.00 pm).
12.
The complete fee for the course should deposited on or before Tuesday September 15, 2026 (by 2.00 pm).
13.
Only one participant per BSAI Member School will be admitted for this certificate course (*A School may nominate a second participant who may be admitted for the course should a vacancy be available).
14.
Only the applicants sponsored / recommended by the BSAI Member Schools' Heads will be admitted to this course.
