A team from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) faced opposition during a visit to inspect a government primary school in Jaipur’s Rampura-Kanwarpura village on Friday and was forced to leave the area.
The visit was part of the CJP’s ongoing ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, under which its teams have been visiting government schools to assess infrastructure, facilities and students’ learning conditions.
According to reports, the CJP team arrived in the Bagru Assembly constituency to inspect the school and interact with teachers and students. A confrontation subsequently broke out as protesters gathered outside the school and raised slogans against the party. The team was reportedly prevented from proceeding and eventually forced to leave the village.
CJP leaders alleged that the confrontation involved physical assaults, stone-pelting and damage to vehicles. Party co-convener and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka claimed that he and other volunteers were assaulted during the incident.
Ranka rejected suggestions that the opposition came from local villagers and alleged political involvement. In a post on X, he said, “These are not the villagers from there, but goons summoned by the BJP.”
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke also alleged that individuals linked to the BJP were behind the incident and questioned the response of the Rajasthan Police. “Ashutosh was attacked by BJP goons in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Police allowed this to happen,” he said.
Dipke also faced criticism on X after using an expletive in his post. Some social media users described the remark as distasteful, while others accused him of hypocrisy. One user wrote, “When the police intervened in Delhi, you called them out for use of force. Now, you want the police to act only because you need support. What sort of hypocrisy is this?”
The dispute is also linked to concerns about the condition of the school. CJP members claimed that the school building had been declared unsafe and that classes were being conducted in a cattle enclosure. Villagers, however, reportedly maintained that the building could be repaired and that funds had already been sanctioned for the work.
The allegations of political involvement and assault have not been independently verified. Local accounts have disputed the CJP’s version of events, while Bagru DSP Dharmendra Sharma was reported to have said that he was unaware of the incident.
The confrontation has since developed into a political dispute, with the CJP demanding action against those allegedly responsible and warning of further protests if its demands are not met.
