Heritage Institute of Technology, IIT Kanpur sign MoU for research and student exchange

Heritage Institute of Technology (HITK), Kolkata, and the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic and research collaboration.

The agreement proposes a student exchange programme that will allow HITK students to spend a period at IIT Kanpur and participate in academic, research and innovation activities. Students will also be able to interact with IIT Kanpur faculty and explore emerging technologies and interdisciplinary areas.

The partnership will facilitate joint research projects, academic initiatives, seminars, workshops, conferences and expert lectures involving faculty members and researchers from both institutions.

“Our collaboration with IIT Kanpur is an important step towards expanding academic and research opportunities for our students and faculty,” said Basab Chaudhuri, principal of HITK. He added that the exchange programme would expose students to IIT Kanpur’s academic and research environment.

Ashoke De, dean of academic affairs at IIT Kanpur, said academic partnerships and student mobility play an important role in strengthening higher education. He added that the institutions would collaborate on research, academic activities and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Pradip Agarwal, CEO of the Heritage Group of Institutions, said the programme would provide students with academic exposure and opportunities to explore research at IIT Kanpur.
