Rashtriya Military School, Ajmer, Rajasthan is an English medium boarding school for boys, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and is an active member of Indian Public Schools’ Conference (IPSC). It was founded on November 15, 1930 as King George’s Royal Indian Military School to cater to the educational needs of sons of Defence personals. Later, in 1952 it gained recognition as a public school and began admitting sons of both Defence personals and civilians. In 1954, the school became an active member of Indian Public Schools Conference and on June 25, 2007 it was renamed as Rashtriya Military School.
‘Sheelam Param Bhushnam’ is the prime motto of the school meaning character is the highest virtue. The Central Governing Council (CGC) headed by Defence Secretary, Ministry of Defence is the apex body of the school.
The office building is an impressive structure that reflects the Victorian era hosting the school office, the staff room and a conference hall.
The school houses an auditorium for morning assemblies, inter house competition and other events, an entertainment centre where movies in Hindi and English are played on weekly basis and a well stocked library with over 7000 books in different languages, genres and discipline. It also houses the cadets’ dormitory and a 110 bed dormitory for newcomers.
The school mess provides the cadets with a nutritional and well planned diet.
There is a motivational hall by the name of ‘nischay’ which also houses a photo gallery.
The playfield includes a synthetic Basketball court, six-a-side hockey turf field, hockey ground, football ground, cricket ground and a swimming pool.
The school also houses well equipped laboratories for mathematics, physics, chemistry geography, wood work, art, computer science and English language.
The school curriculum includes subjects such as science, mathematics, geography, English and computer science. Hindi is compulsory for classes V to X.
Several hobby classes are organized for the students to engage themselves in.
Extra-curricular activities include sports such as boxing, table tennis, cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, lawn tennis and swimming.
The school has provisions for online teaching facilities as well.
The school aims to prepare cadets for the Indian Defense forces.
The school follows the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), as laid down by CBSE.

Applicants to forward self address envelope of size 31 cm x 25 cm affixed with Rs 60/- stamps for prospectus and application form along with Demand Draft for the amount payable at respective Rashtriya Military School (in favour of ” Principal , Rashtriya Military School”)

Eligibility:
Age: Boys between 10 to 11 years of age (for class VI) as on 01 July are eligible for admission. Six months relaxation in upper age limit is permissible for the wards of personnel killed in action.
Education Criteria: Candidates should have passed class V from a government/recognized school before the date of admission to a Rashtriya Military School. A student studying in class V is also eligible to apply for admission.
Medical Assesment: Candidates need to undergo a medical exam at the Command/Zonal and other military hospitals as nominated by the Director General of Medical Services prior to admission and only those found medically fit will be offered admission.
Fee Structure
Tuition fee for different categories are as given below (SC and ST candidates are required to pay one fourth of the amount mentioned below):
– Rs 4,800/- per annum for OR
– Rs 7,200/- per annum JCOs
– Rs 15,000/- per annum for Officers
– Rs 24,000/- per annum for Civilians
