The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct Class 12 board examinations in seven West Asian countries from October 23 to 28 for students dissatisfied with their results under a special assessment scheme introduced after the exams were cancelled due to the war situation, officials said on Monday.
The board had cancelled examinations in 40 subjects, including 20 academic papers, in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
CBSE had notified an assessment scheme on March 27, and results for regular candidates in these countries were declared on May 13, along with those of other Class 12 students in India and abroad.
Under the scheme, students dissatisfied with their results were given an opportunity to appear for examinations in subjects that could not be held earlier. Candidates were required to submit forms last month to register for the examinations.
CBSE examination controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said admit cards were released on October 12.
The examinations will begin on October 23 with Political Science, Economics, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. Psychology, Business Studies and Physical Activity are scheduled for October 24, followed by Biology, Information Technology, Multimedia, Marketing and Artificial Intelligence on October 26.
Home Science, Informatics Practices and Computer Science will be held on October 27, while English is scheduled for October 28.
One examination centre has been designated in each country, based on the List of Candidates submitted by students.
Bhardwaj said the results of these examinations would be final and replace the candidates’ earlier performance.
