Dehradun school principal arrested in POCSO case

The principal of a private school in Dehradun’s Premnagar area has been arrested for allegedly committing obscene acts and sodomy with a minor student, police said on Wednesday.

Following the complaint by the boy’s father, a case was registered at the Premnagar police station under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the accused principal was arrested on Tuesday, they said.

Dehradun SSP Pramendra Dobal said, “The father alleged that his son had not been speaking much to family members and had remained withdrawn for the past few days. When asked about the reason, the boy narrated his ordeal and alleged that the principal had sexually assaulted him inside the school.”
