The Delhi government on Monday announced a ₹21-crore scheme to provide free professional coaching to 2,200 students from government schools under the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Vidya Shakti Mission.
The programme will support preparation for JEE, NEET, CLAT, CA Foundation and CUET through private institutes including Aakash, Narayana, KD Campus and Ravindra Institute. Fifty seats per course have been reserved for female students in JEE, NEET, CLAT and CA, along with 150 seats in the CUET-UG batch.
Education Minister Ashish Sood described the initiative as a significant step in expanding academic support. He said the mission would offer AI-enabled classrooms, human-centred learning and equal access to opportunities. He also urged schools to strengthen psychological support systems, early-distress protocols, teacher sensitisation and peer-support networks.
Sood recalled a visit to an MCD school in Lajpat Nagar, noting that the mission aims to ensure no student is held back due to limited guidance, financial constraints or lack of emotional support.
He said the initiative forms part of the government’s broader commitment to an inclusive future for students in Delhi.
