The University of Glasgow has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with UPES to launch a new academic partnership aimed at enhancing undergraduate student mobility between India and the UK.
Under the 2+2 arrangement, students will complete the first two years of their bachelor’s degree at UPES before transferring to Glasgow for the final two years. Successful graduates will receive a BSc (Hons) in Computing Science or Software Engineering from the University of Glasgow, with an option to progress to the integrated MSci programme.
The collaboration aligns with the University of Glasgow’s internationalisation strategy, with India identified as a key partner. UPES was selected for its academic strengths, industry-linked programmes, and focus on sustainability.
Professor Rachel Sandison OBE, deputy vice-chancellor (External Engagement) at the University of Glasgow, said the agreement reflects the institution’s aim to expand high-quality transnational education and support globally connected graduates.
Dr Abhishek Sinha, head of the department of International Affairs at UPES, said the partnership will strengthen globally relevant academic pathways and prepare students for an interconnected world.
The agreement reinforces both universities’ commitment to expanding international opportunities and providing Indian students with access to global resources and cross-cultural learning.
