In this episode of Edu Leader Speaks by EducationWorld, Manojkumar Nagasampige, the Founding Director of the Centre for Distance & Online Education at Manipal Academy of Higher Education spoke to EW’s Special Correspondent, Reshma Ravishanker on online programmes, micro credentials and revival of Ed Tech.

Dr Manoj has spent over two decades working on MAHE’s online education ecosystem expanding from a small cohort to a global community of over 15,000 students. He has played a key role in strengthening international collaborations and bridging academia and industry through Work Integrated Learning Programmes, allowing professionals to upskill without careers breaks. Dr Manoj also led the establishment of the Centre for Microcredentials at MAHE, delivering agile, industry-aligned programs that equip learners with job-ready skills.

"Seriousness should not be confused with panic. The examination system must be protected wherever trust can be breached, and any immediate action should be judged by its proportionality and purpose. Students need reliable information because rumours create anxiety, and criticism must distinguish between failure and response. Strengthening leadership, cybersecurity, operational procedures, and accountability is how a mature system responds to a crisis.
