The Goa Institute of Management (GIM) has signed an MoU with STPINEXT, a Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) Software Technology Parks of India initiative, to jointly build a multidisciplinary ecosystem that integrates technology with law, finance, social sciences, health, sustainability, and global partnerships.
The MoU was signed on Thursday, December 18, at the GIM campus during the pre-Summit event for the India-AI Impact Summit 2026. The formal document was exchanged between Prof. Ajit Parulekar, Director, GIM, and Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI, in the presence of Kabir Shirgaokar, Director, DITE&C, Government of Goa; Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY; and senior officials from GIM.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Parulekar, said, “GIM’s collaboration with STPINEXT is an important milestone which will reinforce our commitment to nurturing responsible innovation, multidisciplinary entrepreneurship, and future-ready leadership for India’s digital economy.”
STPINEXT acts as a nodal agency, offering incubation, mentoring, funding access, R&D support, and industry connections to early-stage tech startups.
Goa Institute of Management is the first higher education institution globally to integrate Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) Learning into its academic curriculum which includes four full-time PGDM programmes accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The collaboration between GIM and STPINEXT will span multiple domains:
Knowledge exchange and research on startup policy, digital laws, data protection, cybersecurity, AI governance, and regulatory innovation.
Organising hackathons, contests, and pitching sessions to nurture entrepreneurship across law, business, policy, and social-impact domains.
Collaborative programmes in Environment & Sustainability, and projects in Public Health & Human Development.
In addition, the collaborators will jointly curate an Annual Startup Needs Assessment framework to capture startup founder requirements, compliance challenges, and policy gaps, and develop a structured “one startup – one mentor” engagement model.
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has recognised GIM’s Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program as equivalent to an MBA degree.
Additionally, the Institute has collaborated with Nova School of Business and Economics, Portugal, to offer a prestigious International Double Degree in Analytics (IDA).
It may also be noted that GIM has officially received accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA), two of the world’s leading authorities on business education.
