Heritage Institute of Technology, The Heritage Academy organise four-day induction programme for freshers

Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT), in association with The Heritage Academy (THA), organised a four-day induction programme for newly admitted students of BBA, BCA, Media Science and Cyber Security to introduce them to campus life, academics and student support services.

The programme aimed to help students transition into higher education while familiarising them with the institutions’ academic culture and values through sessions on professional development, well-being and emerging technologies.

The inaugural session on July 15 featured addresses by Biswanath Chattopadhyay, CEO, IVL Dhunseri Petrochem Industries Pvt. Ltd.; Surajit Datta, BU Head – Delivery Head, Financial Services & FinTech, Cognizant; and Indrajit Kundu, Editor and Chief of the Kolkata Bureau, TV Today Network. The speakers discussed leadership, professional ethics, resilience and lifelong learning.

Over four days, students attended sessions on artificial intelligence, innovation and entrepreneurship, heartfulness, value-based living, fitness, nutrition, cyber awareness, and media and communication. The sessions were conducted by academicians, industry professionals and wellness practitioners.

The programme concluded on July 18 with an alumni interaction, where former students shared their academic and career experiences with the new batch.

Student clubs also organised cultural performances, including music, dance and drama, to introduce freshers to campus activities.

Speaking on the occasion, Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, said, “Education is not merely about acquiring knowledge; it is about shaping character, nurturing values and preparing young minds to become responsible global citizens. Our induction programme reflects the Heritage philosophy of holistic education, where students are encouraged to excel academically while developing empathy, resilience, creativity and leadership. We are delighted to welcome the new batch into the Heritage family and wish them a rewarding journey ahead.”

According to the institution, the programme forms part of its efforts to prepare students through a combination of academics, industry exposure and co-curricular engagement.
