To compile the 2026-27 league table of most admired international day-cum-boarding schools, EducationWorld commissioned our trusted partner AZ Research Partners Pvt. Ltd which interviewed 18,000 knowledgeable sample respondents comprising parents and educators across 34 education hubs countrywide. With five world-class schools elevated to the super nova Ivy League category, this year’s league table of India’s top international day-cum-boarding schools has undergone a major churn.

Greenwood High International, Bengaluru has been promoted to India #1 (#2 in 2025-26) with the incommunicado The International School Bangalore (TISB) losing its Ivy League status and pushed down to #2. TISB is followed by Stonehill International, Bengaluru which has retained its #3 rank. Sharanya Narayani International School, Bengaluru has inched up to #3 (4) trading places with Indus International, Bengaluru at #4 (3). In a first, India’s Top four international day-cum-boarding schools are sited in Bengaluru city — the Silicon Valley and IT hub of India which also hosts the second largest number of international schools countrywide (after Mumbai). Top table is completed by Sadhbhavana World School, Kozhikode, ranked #4 (6) and CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, Chennai at #5 (7).

Niru Agarwal, vice chairperson and managing trustee of Greenwood High International (GWHI), Bengaluru, is overjoyed that the Cambridge and IB-affiliated GWHI has finally been accorded its “due status” with highest scores under the parameters of teacher welfare and development, co-curricular and sports education, and second-highest for academic reputation.

GD Goenka World School, Sohna Road, Gurugram is promoted to #6 (9), Chettinad Sarvalokaa Education International School, Kelambakkam, Chennai is ranked #7 (8), Genesis Global School, Noida at #8 (10), Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam #9 (13), Kings College India, Rohtak to #10 (17).  Yet the biggest leap forward in this year’s league table is that of Manchester Global School, Hyderabad, which has zoomed to #11 from #27 in 2025-26.

Parents should also bear in mind that schools modestly ranked in the national league table may well be top-ranked in their host states and cities, a consideration of special interest to day scholars. For instance, Navrachana International School (IB), Vadodara, ranked India #18 is the #1 international day-cum-boarding school of Gujarat (pop.74 million). Taktse International School, Gangtok, ranked #19 nationally is #1 in Sikkim (700,000) and Sharda World School, Agra, India #27 is #1 in Uttar Pradesh (241 million).
