O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has recorded improved positions across multiple disciplines in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, with advances in law, politics and international studies, and business and management.
Law and Legal Studies rose to 35th globally from 78th in 2025, while Politics and International Studies entered the top 100 at 90th, up from the 201–250 band. Business and Management Studies moved to the 151–200 band from 451–500.
JGU ranked first in India in Law for the seventh consecutive year and also secured the top position among Indian institutions in Politics and International Studies. In Business and Management Studies, it was ranked the leading private university in India.
In other areas, Arts and Humanities was placed 323rd globally, while Social Sciences and Management ranked 232nd. Economics and Econometrics also ranked JGU as the top private university in India.
The 2026 subject rankings assessed 6,277 institutions across 55 disciplines.
Naveen Jindal said the results reflect the institution’s position across disciplines and its contribution to higher education in India.
Raj Kumar said the law ranking marks a milestone, adding that performance across subjects indicates broader institutional progress.
Padmanabha Ramanujam said the rankings reflect the university’s academic framework and output.
Founded in 2009 in Sonipat, JGU is a multidisciplinary university with programmes in law, business, international affairs, and the social sciences.
