The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on Saturday announced the results of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2026. Candidates can access their scorecards through the official portals cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and karresults.nic.in. The results were formally released by Karnataka Higher Education Minister Dr MC Sudhakar from the KEA headquarters.
This year, over 3.09 lakh candidates took the examination. Participation remained consistent across major subjects, with 3,09,014 students appearing for Physics, 3,08,946 for Chemistry, and 3,02,384 for Mathematics. Biology recorded 2,31,023 candidates.
The entrance examination was conducted between April 22 and April 24 at 745 centres across Karnataka. Around 3,30,479 candidates had registered, with approximately 3.1–3.2 lakh eventually appearing for the test. KEA released the provisional answer key on April 27, followed by a correction window that remained open until April 30. The final answer key was published on May 10.
A total of 2,92,782 candidates qualified for various professional courses in 2026. Engineering (ENGG) accounted for 2,82,603 eligible candidates, while B.Pharm and Pharma-D registered 2,86,609 and 2,86,965 eligible candidates respectively.
Among other streams, 2,18,785 candidates qualified for B.Sc. Nursing, 2,12,909 for B.V.Sc. (Veterinary Science), 2,12,730 for BNYS (Yoga & Naturopathy), and 2,09,220 for B.Sc. programmes in Agriculture, Sericulture, Forestry and Food Science. Additionally, 21,775 candidates appeared for the Agriculture Practical Test and 21,838 for the BVSc Practical Test.
Government PU College students also recorded notable performances. Of the 8,414 applicants from Government PU Colleges, 7,620 appeared for the examination. Their representation among top ranks included 12 students in the top 1,000 Engineering ranks, 15 in BNYS and 13 in B.Sc. (Agri). Within the top 5,000 ranks, 53 students secured Engineering positions, 45 qualified in BNYS and 48 in B.Sc. (Agri). In the top 10,000 category, 108 students featured in Engineering, 85 in BNYS and 101 in B.Sc. (Agri).
Performance under special categories was equally noteworthy. Among Kannada-medium students, 9 secured positions within the top 1,000 Engineering ranks, 75 featured in the top 5,000 and 226 made it to the top 10,000. Rural-claimed candidates recorded 4 placements in the top 1,000, 53 in the top 5,000 and 108 in the top 10,000 Engineering ranks.
The top five rank holders in Engineering are Tanisha Karthik, Srajan B S, Ninaad Vasisht, Ira Jain and Rishon Fernandes. In Veterinary Science, the top five rankers are Nayana Gopi, Amulya S, Rithvik Kumar, Basavaraj Avati and Suchita M. The top five positions in Farm Sciences were secured by Ninaad Vasisht, Anmol Prabhu, Samay A S, Rishika K S and Ritul S Reddy. In B.Pharm and Pharm.D, the leading rank holders are Nayana Gopi, Amulya S and Suchita M.
