Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre (SPSEC), Kanpur, recently marked its 44th Founder’s Day, with a landmark celebration that brought together institutional legacy, national leadership, and a renewed commitment to future-ready education. The event reflected the school’s enduring philosophy of nurturing values, innovation, and leadership among young learners.
The occasion was graced by the eminent chief guest, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy, whose presence elevated the celebrations with national stature and inspiration.

In a deeply engaging and thought-provoking keynote address, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi spoke directly to the aspirations of the young generation. Drawing from his distinguished career in the Indian Navy, he emphasised the values of discipline, resilience, courage, and service to the nation.
Addressing students as members of Generation Alpha, he urged them to cultivate adaptability and a strong moral compass in an increasingly complex world. Reflecting on leadership in challenging circumstances, the Admiral highlighted that failures are not setbacks but stepping stones to growth, encouraging students to approach challenges with perseverance and confidence.
His address blended lessons from national service with reflections on personal growth and leadership, leaving a profound impact on the student community and reaffirming the importance of character-building in education.
Inauguration of Manorama Govind Hari Singhania Centre for Excellence
A defining highlight of the celebration was the inauguration of the Manorama Govind Hari Singhania Centre for Excellence, a state-of-the-art academic facility envisioned as a hub for innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and leadership development.
Inaugurated by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Centre represents a significant step in SPSEC’s strategic vision to create future-focused learning environments. Architecturally elegant and pedagogically dynamic, the Centre houses spacious, technology-enabled classrooms equipped with advanced digital learning systems, creating immersive environments that foster curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking. The interiors are thoughtfully curated with aesthetic art décor and inspiring learning spaces, reflecting the institution’s belief that environments influence intellectual engagement and creativity.
A distinctive feature of the facility is the Tagore Reading Lounge, a serene literary haven that hosts over 1,000 carefully curated titles by eminent national and international authors, offering students a vibrant culture of reading and reflective learning. Notably, it stands among the first such thoughtfully designed reading spaces in Kanpur, reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing a deep appreciation for literature and scholarship.
Complementing the academic infrastructure is a well-designed badminton court, promoting holistic development and encouraging students to pursue physical fitness alongside intellectual excellence.
Together, these thoughtfully integrated facilities make the Centre has cutting-edge learning infrastructure aligned with contemporary educational practices and the aspirations of 21st-century learners.
Innovation and Experiential Learning on Display
The chief guest visited the Annual School Exhibition, where students presented working models and research-based projects aligned with the theme Sense and Sensibility. The exhibition showcased innovation across disciplines, reflecting the school’s emphasis on experiential, inquiry-driven learning.

A key highlight was a humanoid robot developed by the school’s Robotics Lab, which drew special appreciation from Admiral Tripathi. Commending the students for their originality and confidence, he lauded the institution for encouraging scientific inquiry, technological exploration, and problem-solving skills.
Celebrating Knowledge and Compassion
The event also featured the release of the school’s Annual Monograph titled “Sense and Sensibility: Living with Compassion.” The publication reflects the school’s academic philosophy and its sustained emphasis on empathy, ethical awareness, and reflective learning. The monograph encapsulates the school’s educational ethos through reflective writings, student perspectives, and scholarly insights that highlight the integration of intellectual growth with humane values.
Honouring Excellence
The Founder’s Day celebrations also reaffirmed the school’s tradition of recognising merit and achievement. Scholarships amounting to Rs.5,25,000 were awarded under the Shri Govind Hari Singhania Scholarship Programme, celebrating academic excellence across disciplines.
The Shri Govind Hari Singhania Gold Medal, the institution’s highest academic honour, was awarded to Arindam Naha (Class XII) for outstanding scholastic performance and exemplary leadership.
Educators and alumni were also felicitated, reflecting the institution’s culture of gratitude, mentorship, and lifelong engagement.
Culture as an Expression of Holistic Education
The celebrations featured a grand cultural presentation involving nearly 2,000 students, reflecting SPSEC’s philosophy of balanced and holistic education.

The performances ranged from a reverential Ganesh Vandana to a powerful naval-themed production titled “Waves of Sovereignty,” paying tribute to India’s maritime legacy and national service. The programme culminated in a grand orchestral finale blending Indian and Western musical traditions, symbolising harmony between heritage and global outlook.
Each presentation showcased disciplined creativity, collaborative spirit, and cultural rootedness.
