At Rustomjee Cambridge International Schools in Dahisar, Virar, and Thane, education goes beyond textbooks. The school fosters a dynamic environment where students grow into leaders, innovators, and compassionate global citizens. By nurturing curiosity, empathy, and leadership, Rustomjee Cambridge empowers young minds to create meaningful impact.
The following five stories reflect the transformative spirit of the institution.
Teaching Humanity in Nairobi’s Kibera Slums
In May 2025, Rustomjee Cambridge A-level student Zeeshan Dhakaan embarked on a life-changing journey to the Kibera Slums in Nairobi, one of the world’s largest informal settlements. At the Red Rhino Resource Centre, Zeeshan taught science using simple yet powerful tools—parachutes, magnets, and light circuits—provided by his school.
These hands-on experiments sparked curiosity and wonder, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries through the universal language of learning. The children’s resilience, eagerness to learn, and gratitude deeply moved Zeeshan, instilling in him a lasting sense of responsibility and humility. His experience reflects the school’s core values of empathy, service, and global citizenship.
Mentoring the Future Through Artificial Intelligence
In a pioneering initiative, A2 (Grade 12, Class of 2026) students Zeeshan Dhakaan and Sarthak Khaire, along with alumni Siddhat Patel and Aaradhya Gupta (Class of 2025), organised an AI Project Camp for AS students.
Over a period of 45 days, the mentors guided juniors in developing AI models addressing real-world challenges such as cancer detection, air-quality monitoring, and plant disease identification. Beyond technical learning, the camp fostered patience, collaboration, empathy, and the joy of mentorship.
Supported by the school’s leadership, the initiative reinforced Rustomjee Cambridge’s belief that education thrives when students learn by teaching and inspiring others.
Mastering German, Mentoring Juniors
Mithil Shinde, a 15-year-old certified B2-level German speaker, took the initiative to mentor Grade 9 students preparing for the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 examination. Driven by his passion for languages, Mithil simplified complex grammar concepts and created tailored practice exercises to help beginners gain confidence.
With support from the school’s self-study programme, his voluntary efforts enabled several juniors to successfully clear the exam. Mithil’s dedication exemplifies how Rustomjee Cambridge nurtures leadership through peer learning and shared responsibility.
Igniting Young Minds with AI
Innovation and risk-taking lie at the heart of learning at Rustomjee Cambridge. Vivaan Daruwalla, a 15-year-old student, led a Deep Dive AI Camp for students in Grades 7, 8, and 9, introducing them to artificial intelligence and its real-world applications.
More than a coding workshop, the camp sparked creativity, built confidence, and cultivated an entrepreneurial mindset. Through this initiative, Vivaan honed his leadership and communication skills while empowering younger students to imagine and shape future possibilities.
Silencing Bullies, Empowering Voices
A-level students from the Class of 2026 launched a powerful anti-bullying campaign aimed at fostering a kinder, more inclusive school environment. Through presentations, posters, and interactive discussions, they raised awareness about the impact of bullying and encouraged younger students to speak up.
Promoting the message of “silencing the bully, not the victim,” the initiative transformed senior students into role models and advocates for empathy and respect, reflecting the school’s emphasis on character development and community well-being.
A Legacy of Leadership
Rustomjee Cambridge International Schools nurture far more than academic excellence. They shape leaders, innovators, and changemakers who are prepared to serve society with empathy and purpose. From teaching in Nairobi’s slums to pioneering AI initiatives and peer mentorship, students consistently embody the school’s ethos of learning, sharing, and uplifting others.
With the unwavering support of Dr. Hanif Kanjer and the dedicated team of principals and teachers, Rustomjee Cambridge continues to inspire futures, proving that true education lies in empowering students to light the way for others.
