The Heritage School, Kolkata hosted the Eastern Region Meet of the South Asia International Baccalaureate Schools Association (SAIBSA) on 28 February 2026, bringing together educators and facilitators from schools across the region for a day of professional discussions and collaboration.
The programme began with registration and breakfast, followed by an inaugural ceremony that included the lighting of the lamp, a cultural presentation, a welcome address by the Head of School, and the felicitation of facilitators.
A plenary session on the new Extended Essay framework opened the academic discussions. The day continued with sessions on curriculum and unit planning, Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Approaches to Teaching and Learning (ATL). Participants also took part in discussions on the Extended Essay, subject-specific papers, and internal assessment processes.
A group photograph was followed by a networking lunch at the school dining hall. Afternoon sessions focused on subject-specific exchanges and sharing of teaching resources.
The meet concluded with a vote of thanks and refreshments. The event provided a platform for educators to exchange practices and strengthen professional engagement within the IB community in the Eastern region.
