A group of students on Friday protested in Latur against Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, accusing him of abandoning the NEET paper leak issue and moving on to other matters.
The students gathered at Gandhi Chowk with placards and raised slogans against Dipke. Some also hit a poster of the CJP founder with slippers.
The protesters sought answers from Dipke on the assurances given by the government following the CJP’s agitation at Jantar Mantar, which led to the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 25.
“Why is Dipke now silent on the NEET issue? What has happened to the NEET case? What has Dipke done on compensation for students who allegedly committed suicide after the NEET paper leak?” protest leader Satish Karande said.
Karande told the media sources that the group had been in contact with Dipke for the past one-and-a-half months but had received “evasive” responses.
He alleged that Dipke had taken up the issue of ZP schools but left it midway and had now moved to Mumbai.
Dipke and the CJP are currently leading a protest at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
