Fourteen Indian business schools, including seven Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), have featured among the world’s top 100 institutions in the Financial Times Masters in Management (MiM) Ranking 2026.
IIM Bangalore was the highest-ranked Indian institution at 21st, improving from 28th in 2025 and 41st in 2024. SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai, was placed 26th, followed by IIM Ahmedabad at 27th.
XLRI ranked 33rd, while IIM Calcutta secured the 39th position. Other Indian institutions on the list were IIM Kozhikode (54), IIM Indore (62), Management Development Institute Gurgaon (67), IIM Lucknow (72), NMIMS Mumbai (73), IIM Udaipur (83), IMT Ghaziabad (86), IMI Delhi (90) and TA Pai Management Institute, Karnataka (98).
“The FT MiM 2026 rankings bear testament to the transformational value of an IIMB education and the impact our graduates are making globally,” said U Dinesh Kumar, director-in-charge, IIM Bangalore.
The ranking assesses business schools across 19 criteria, including career prospects, salary growth, value for money, international exposure, student diversity and sustainability. Alumni feedback accounts for 56 per cent of the overall score, while data submitted by institutions makes up the remaining 44 per cent.
Globally, Switzerland’s University of St Gallen retained the top position. Nova School of Business and Economics in Portugal ranked second, followed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Antai College of Economics and Management in China.
