The International Baccalaureate (IB) has announced the May 2026 results for its Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP), with 6,265 students across India receiving their results, a 3 per cent increase over last year.
Globally, 209,607 students received DP and CP results. The average DP score for students in India was 32.78 points.
IB Regional Director for Asia Pacific Joe Lam said the results reflected the growth of the IB across the region and the programme’s focus on developing critical thinking, creativity and responsibility among students.
The DP is currently offered in 192 IB World Schools across India. Designed as a two-year pre-university programme, it combines academic study with inquiry-based learning and aims to prepare students for higher education and future careers.
The CP, now available in 43 IB World Schools in India, integrates academic studies with career-related learning for students aged 16–19 and focuses on developing practical and transferable skills.
For the May 2026 examination session, most DP and CP students worldwide completed the standard combination of coursework and examinations. Students in parts of the Middle East affected by regional conflict were assessed through the IB’s Non-Exam Contingency Measure, which used externally assessed coursework, predicted grades and supporting evidence to award final grades.
The IB said it will publish an interim statistical bulletin for the May 2026 examination session in the coming weeks.
