FLAME University hosted the National Conference of Psychology 2026: Bridging Theory and Practice, centred on the theme ‘Psychology at the Workplace’, on 27–28 March at its Pune campus.
Organised by the Department of Psychological Sciences, the two-day, in-person conference brought together academicians, researchers, practitioners, industry professionals and students from across India. The event focused on how psychological research can inform workplace practices and policy in response to changes driven by artificial intelligence, the gig economy and evolving workforce expectations.
The conference included keynote sessions, a masterclass, and research presentations in oral and poster formats. A total of 82 presenters from 10 cities across seven states participated, including students, research scholars, faculty members and industry experts.
Keynote addresses were delivered by Pooja Purang of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Seemantinee Khot. Dishan Kamdar, Vice-Chancellor of FLAME University, conducted a masterclass on negotiation, focusing on applications in organisational settings.
Discussions addressed themes including work stress, coping and burnout, leadership and organisational culture, the impact of technology on workplace experience, and employee well-being. Sessions also examined gender, identity and inclusion in organisational contexts.
Speaking at the conference, Kamdar said workplaces are being shaped by social, economic and cultural factors, and that understanding human behaviour is necessary alongside technological and economic considerations.
The conference aimed to support dialogue on the role of psychology in understanding workplace change and to highlight its relevance in organisational practice and policy.
