NIIT University (NU) and Grant Thornton Bharat LLP (GTBharat) have entered into a strategic collaboration to co-create and launch a BBA (Applied Finance) programme. The partnership aims to shift business and finance education from degree-centric learning to industry-aligned skill development.
Under the arrangement, NU will be responsible for academic delivery, campus infrastructure, faculty-led instruction and student assessment, while GTBharat will contribute to curriculum co-development, industry mentorship, live projects, internship facilitation and evaluation inputs.
The programme offers up to 18 months of industry practice with stipend support and an application-led curriculum that accounts for up to 80% of the coursework. Students will be trained in industry tools including Excel, Python, SAP, Power BI and artificial intelligence. The course also provides Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) opportunities through its industry practice component, with pathways into consulting and finance roles at compensation benchmarked to industry standards.
Commenting on the partnership, Prof. Prakash Gopalan, President, NIIT University, said, “Our collaboration with Grant Thornton Bharat LLP is a direct reflection of our conviction that the future of education lies in its ability to connect seamlessly with the world of work. By co-creating the BBA (Applied Finance) programme, we are ensuring that students are not passive recipients of knowledge, but active participants in real industry environments.”
Kapil Arora, Partner at Grant Thornton Bharat LLP, said, “Partnering with NIIT University on the BBA (Applied Finance) programme allows us to help shape the next generation of finance and consulting professionals. This co-created curriculum brings the depth of our industry expertise directly into the classroom. We look forward to welcoming talent from this programme into the broader Grant Thornton ecosystem.”
Admissions for the BBA (Applied Finance) programme are open.
