Vivo India has announced the fourth edition of its vivo Ignite: Technology and Innovation Initiative, a nationwide programme for students in Classes 8 to 12 aimed at promoting technology-led problem solving.
The programme invites students to submit individual or group entries, with up to three members per team, under themes such as community development, soft-tech innovation, agriculture, climate change and other technology-based solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Registrations are open from April 21 to June 30 through the official portal. The competition will be conducted in seven stages, culminating in a national finale in New Delhi on October 11, where the top 10 finalists will present their prototypes before a jury. Participants will compete for scholarships and rewards with a total pool of up to INR 40 lakh.
This year’s edition introduces a new intermediate stage, Achiever 30, where selected participants from the top 200 will receive mentorship from domain experts before progressing to the final round. The initiative also includes a teacher innovation grant of INR 50,000 for educators of the top 10 finalists.
The programme will provide special weightage to students from aspirational districts and government schools to broaden participation.
vivo India has partnered with National Council of Educational Research and Training, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, Science Olympiad Foundation and UN Global Compact Network India as knowledge partners for the programme.
According to the company, the third edition received more than 37,000 registrations from over 9,000 schools across 660 districts.
In the previous edition, the winning projects included an AI-based system for detecting criminal activity and a rehabilitation system designed to support healthcare outcomes.
