Nearly 16 lakh candidates have downloaded their admit cards for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said as preparations continue for the nationwide test.
The NTA has eased the admit card download process by allowing candidates to access their hall tickets without first completing bank account verification, following complaints from students who were unable to complete the verification process.
Admit cards for the re-examination were released on June 14. According to the agency, candidates can now download their admit cards using their login credentials and complete bank account verification for the examination fee refund process later.
In a post on X, the NTA said candidates who download their admit cards before completing bank verification will remain eligible for the refund process.
The agency has advised candidates to verify details such as examination centre, reporting time and personal information and to keep printed copies of their admit cards ready for the examination.
Candidates facing issues have been asked to contact the NTA through its helpline numbers or email support.
Security arrangements have also been strengthened ahead of the re-examination. The Indian Air Force has transported question papers to 18 locations across the country to ensure secure and timely delivery of examination materials.
The NTA, in coordination with government agencies, has put in place a multi-layered security framework covering the transportation, storage and distribution of question papers. Sensitive examination centres have been placed under enhanced surveillance.
The re-examination follows the cancellation of the original NEET-UG 2026 test held on May 3 after allegations of a question paper leak.
The examination will be conducted in a single shift from 2 pm to 5.15 pm, with an additional 15 minutes allocated for administrative procedures.
NEET-UG is the entrance examination for undergraduate medical admissions in India. Authorities said efforts are focused on ensuring the June 21 re-test is conducted smoothly and securely.
