Ashoka Centre for a People-centric Energy Transition and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited have signed a five-year memorandum of understanding to collaborate on research, innovation, and capacity-building initiatives in India’s power sector.
The partnership aims to support India’s energy transition through joint work in areas including smart grids, electric vehicles, distributed energy resources, energy storage, demand-side management, and consumer engagement. The two organisations will also undertake policy research, technical studies, and knowledge-sharing programmes.
According to the agreement, the collaboration will include research projects, technology demonstrations, training initiatives, expert dialogues, and the development of policy briefs and technical reports. The partners will also explore the establishment of a centre of excellence.
Tata Power-DDL will provide operational support, infrastructure access, and research personnel, while both organisations will jointly design and implement programmes through a joint steering committee.
Tata Power Managing Director and CEO Praveer Sinha said the collaboration would support the development of scalable solutions through cooperation between academia, industry, and policymakers.
ACPET Director Vaibhav Chowdhary said the partnership combines operational experience with research capability to support a sustainable and equitable energy system.
