HCLFoundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of HCLTech in India, and Pearson have launched a Discovery Science Center in Bengaluru to provide underserved students with hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The centre is expected to benefit more than 1,500 students annually through application-based learning, STEM clubs, workshops and competitions aimed at developing critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.
The initiative expands the strategic partnership between HCLTech and Pearson to strengthen skills through AI-powered technology and builds on a similar Discovery Science Center established in Noida.
Vishaal Gupta, India Chair and President, Enterprise Learning & Skills at Pearson, said the centre would help expand access to quality STEM education for students from underserved communities through practical learning experiences.
Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President and Global Head of CSR at HCLTech, said the partnership combines technology, learning expertise and community engagement to create inclusive learning opportunities and equip students with skills for the future.
Earlier this year, HCLFoundation and Pearson partnered to support 400 students by setting up smart classrooms equipped with smart boards and laptops. The programme also provided assistive devices for children with special needs and supported efforts to improve school enrolment and retention in underserved communities.
