CBSE Class 12 student Vedant Srivastava, who had alleged that his Physics answer sheet was swapped with another student’s during evaluation, has claimed that the re-evaluation process did not result in any increase in his Physics marks.

Vedant said that although the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had acknowledged the answer sheets were exchanged and assured him that the marks would be corrected, his revised results did not reflect any additional marks in Physics.

Meanwhile, a statement circulating on social media, purportedly issued by the CBSE, rejected his claims and stated that his Physics score had increased by nine marks after re-evaluation.

“The candidate in his social media post has claimed that only one mark each has increased in two subjects and no marks increased in Physics. However, it is factually incorrect and blatant lie,” the purported statement said.

The CBSE has not confirmed the authenticity of the statement.

Responding on X, Vedant said the nine-mark increase in Physics was not the result of re-evaluation but the correction of marks that were affected because his answer sheet had been swapped.

“The 9 marks increase in physics that you are talking about did not get increased through the process of re-evaluation, they are my true marks which you guys don’t gave me earlier because you exchanged my answer sheet, and 2 marks were increased 1 mark each in CS and Maths,” he wrote.

Vedant also questioned the CBSE’s position, asking how the marks could be attributed to re-evaluation if the Physics answer sheet initially evaluated was not his.

The CBSE also said that 99.7 per cent of the re-evaluation applications received after the declaration of the Class 12 results have been processed. It added that the remaining applications are in the final stages of review and the results will be announced soon.
