MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) has launched the Hafeez Contractor School of Architecture, named after architect and Padma Bhushan awardee Hafeez Contractor.
The school will offer a five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) programme aligned with the Council of Architecture (CoA) guidelines and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The curriculum includes architectural design, building sciences, digital technologies, research, professional practice and sustainability.
According to the university, students will have access to design studios, climatology and surveying laboratories, material museums and digital design facilities. The programme will also provide training in Building Information Modelling (BIM), computational design and immersive technologies, along with industry mentorship, live projects, international design studios and mandatory internships.
Dr Suman Devadula, Dean, School of Design, said the new school aims to provide an environment that integrates innovation, sustainability and practical learning while preparing students for professional practice.
MIT-WPU said the Hafeez Contractor School of Architecture aims to prepare graduates to design sustainable and people-centric built environments. Admissions to the B.Arch. programme are open.
