Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav stated that due to the surge in Covid-19 cases in the state, the university exams in the state will be conducted in May this year and not April.
The end-term exams for university students are always conducted in the month of April in the state but due to the rise in Covid-19 cases, the government has decided to postpone the exams by one month and conduct them in May.
While talking to Aaj Tak, Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav said that the final-year graduation students and fourth-semester post-graduation students will appear for the end-term exams in May this year. Around 4.3 lakh students in final year graduation courses and 1.72 lakh students from post-graduation fourth semester will be appearing for the exams, the minister added.
Yadav also stated that the exams for students in the final year of graduation and post-graduation courses will be appearing for the end-term examinations in offline mode. The minister also said that students in intermediate semesters will be appearing for open book exams.
The government of Madhya Pradesh has also shut down the schools in the state till the end of the month in view of the Covid-19 cases. The schools will reopen in April after the state government has reviewed thepandemic situation in the state.
