Eklavya School, Bengaluru has announced the Artzopia Eklavya Festival, an arts-focused event scheduled for 8 March from 9:30am to 1:00pm at its campus. The festival is designed for young children and their families, with a programme centred on participatory learning through music, theatre, visual arts and film.
A key feature of the event will be ‘Messy Art’, facilitated by the school, where children will be encouraged to paint using their hands and feet. Danish from Bangalore Flash Jam will conduct a one-hour community choir workshop for children and adults.
Theatre performances will be presented by Goshtarang, a troupe based in Maharashtra, with two to three plays curated for young audiences.
The festival will also introduce children to Gond Art through sessions led by Anjali of Studio Tvastra. Additional activities include Flower Pounding Art and Wet-on-Wet painting facilitated by Eklavya educators, drawing on Waldorf pedagogy.
Workshops in pottery will be conducted by Dhanya Verghese of Passionfruit Pottery, while origami sessions will be led by Pooja Ugrani. Ria of Sparklesound will host storytelling and music workshops for parents and children.
The Parallel Film Club will screen curated short films for children, followed by reflective activities aimed at supporting language and cognitive development.
Niyati Handa, Co-Founder of Eklavya Early Years and Eklavya School, Bengaluru, said the festival has been designed as an immersive arts experience where children and parents participate together in creative processes.
By bringing together traditional art forms, contemporary practices and family participation, the Artzopia Eklavya Festival seeks to create a shared cultural space for young learners.
