CBSE Class 10 second board exam results declared; 59% students improve scores

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the results of the Class 10 second board examinations, with 59 percent of students who appeared for improvement recording higher scores.

According to CBSE, more than 6.63 lakh students appeared for the second examination, including over 5.13 lakh seeking to improve their performance. The overall pass percentage, after combining the first and second examinations, stands at 96.78 percent, up from 93.6 percent in the first edition.

More than 1.49 lakh students appeared under the compartment category, with over 52 percent clearing the examination, said CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.

The two-board examination system for Class 10 was introduced in 2026 in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The first examination was held from February 17 to March 11, followed by the second examination from May 15 to May 21. Students eligible for the second examination were allowed to improve their scores, with the better performance considered for the final result.
