The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in association with the Sahodaya School Complexes of Delhi/NCR, is hosting the fourth National Summit on ‘Facilitating School-to-Work Transition’ in New Delhi on October 26 and 27, 2026.
The ongoing summit brings together school leaders, educators, industry representatives and policymakers to discuss integrating skill education into mainstream schooling and preparing students for higher education, vocational training and employment.
Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), T. K. Anil Kumar, and CBSE Chairman Mandeep Bhandari attended the event alongside senior officials from the Ministry and CBSE.
Four priorities for school education
Addressing the gathering, Anil Kumar outlined four priorities: technology, digital safety and skills; design, creativity and innovation; recognition of skills across education systems through the National Credit Framework; and career guidance with equitable pathways.
He emphasised the need to strengthen links between school education, higher education, skilling and employment to help students make informed career choices and pursue lifelong learning.
Focus on skill education and career readiness
The two-day summit features discussions on emerging employment trends, teaching methods, assessment approaches and digital integration in education. Educators from CBSE-affiliated schools are presenting case-based papers and posters on skill education initiatives and practices that can be adopted by other schools.
The deliberations also focus on reducing barriers between educational streams and equipping students with workplace competencies, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The summit provides a platform for schools and industry representatives to exchange ideas and explore partnerships to strengthen career guidance and connect classroom learning with employment requirements.
