The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the schedule for a series of one-day Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) to support the mandatory implementation of Skill Education for Classes 6 to 8. The offline training sessions will begin on January 5, 2026, and will be held at multiple locations across northern India.
The initiative follows CBSE’s earlier notification on integrating skill-based learning into the middle school curriculum in line with the National Education Policy (NEP). The programmes are intended to prepare school leaders and teachers with the pedagogical framework required to deliver Skill Education at the foundational level.
A central component of the training will be the Kaushal Bodh activity books developed by NCERT. These resources are designed to provide structured vocational exposure to students and will serve as the core instructional material for the Skill Education curriculum. Teachers will be guided on learning objectives, classroom practices and assessment methods linked to these activity-based modules.
Principals and teachers from CBSE-affiliated schools are required to coordinate with designated venue coordinators for registration. Key contacts include CA Aditi Gulati for the Varanasi sessions and Dr Bindu Sharma for the Faridabad programme.
The first phase of training will cover Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and the Delhi-NCR region. In Varanasi, sessions will be held at Little Flower House on January 5 and Sunbeam Suncity on January 6. On January 7, training will take place at Gateway International School, Sonipat; PIET Sanskriti Senior Secondary School, Panipat; RBSM Public School, Gurugram; and Lucknow Public School, Ashiyana.
The Delhi-NCR segment will be conducted at Delhi Public School, Greater Faridabad, and Mount Abu School, Rohini, on January 8, followed by sessions at schools in Modinagar, Ghaziabad and Greater Noida from January 9 to 10.
CBSE said the capacity-building drive is a step towards strengthening vocational awareness and skill development at the middle school level. Schools and teachers have been advised to refer to the CBSE Academic website or contact the Department of Skill Education for official notifications and further details.
