Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) has won two categories at the International Green Gown Awards 2026, organised by the UK-based Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges (EAUC).

CUTM was adjudged ‘Winner’ in the 2030 Climate Action and Student Engagement categories. It also received ‘Highly Commended’ recognition in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Benefitting Society and Sustainability Institution of the Year, and was a finalist in Creating Impact and Next Generation Learning & Skills.

In the 2030 Climate Action category, CUTM was recognised for its Centurion University Climate Action Framework (CUCAF), which adopts a whole-institution approach to sustainability. The framework targets net-zero carbon emissions across Scope 1 and 2 by 2035 and full neutrality by 2040. It covers renewable energy, energy efficiency, electric mobility, climate-resilient agriculture and disaster preparedness.

In the Student Engagement category, the university was recognised for its Vision Forward: Student-Led Eye Care Reaching the Last Mile in Rural Odisha initiative. Since 2023, student teams have conducted more than 120 eye-care camps across 120 locations in Odisha.

CUTM was recognised across seven of the eight categories in which it participated. The awards featured entries from 34 countries and 90 finalists.

Our two global wins, together with recognition across seven categories, reinforce our conviction to move beyond sustainability towards becoming waste-neutral, carbon-negative, oxygen-positive and ultimately climate-positive. For us, the Green Gown recognition is a catalyst to deepen our commitment to people, planet and purposeful education,” said Prof. Mukti Kant Mishra, President, CUTM.
