Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Thursday announced the release of the party’s education manifesto alongside the launch of a nationwide protest campaign over alleged examination irregularities and a demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Addressing a press conference in Pune, Dipke said the protest would begin on the campus of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and would remain peaceful and within the constitutional framework. Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk is expected to participate in the programme.
According to Dipke, the manifesto focuses on preventing question paper leaks, ensuring timely declaration of examination results, improving transparency in recruitment and entrance examinations, strengthening accountability among examination authorities, and addressing issues arising from delays and irregularities in examinations.
The campaign will travel to several cities, including Jaipur, Lucknow, Amritsar and Bengaluru, before culminating at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 20.
Dipke said the party was open to dialogue with the government but alleged that its social media accounts had been suspended instead. He also said the movement aimed to highlight concerns raised by students and young people regarding examination-related issues.
The group has gained attention in recent weeks through social media campaigns focused on examination reforms. It organised a protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6, where students from across the country gathered to demand accountability over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and seek the education minister’s resignation.
