Delhi Police has arrested a 47-year-old man from Mysuru for allegedly sending more than 1,100 hoax bomb threats to schools, high courts and government offices across India, officials said on Monday.
The accused, identified as Srinivas Louis, was apprehended on Saturday from his rented residence during a joint operation involving Delhi Police and local teams.
The arrest follows a series of bomb threat messages sent in recent weeks to institutions including the Delhi High Court, the Assembly and several educational and government establishments.
Police said Louis, a postgraduate and native of Bengaluru, is currently unemployed and lives with his mother, a retired government employee.
According to officials, preliminary findings indicate he may have been under mental stress. During initial questioning, he allegedly admitted to sending over 1,100 threat messages through emails and other communication platforms.
Multiple FIRs have been registered in different states in connection with the threats, police added.
