JKLU-NTU partnership
Jaipur, May 11. JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU) and Nottingham Trent University, UK (NTU), signed an MoU to generate international academic progression opportunities for JKLU students in design disciplines. Under the partnership, students enrolled in JKLU’s B.Des (Design) programme across all specialisations will be provided access to structured progression pathways and semester exchange opportunities at NTU, one of the UK’s largest and most respected universities.
The MoU empowers JKLU students to apply for 2+2 or 3+1 progression routes to pursue bachelor’s degree programmes in product design or furniture and product design at NTU. This essentially means that subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria, JKLU students could complete 2-3 years of the bachelor’s degree programme at JKLU and remainder at NTU. Moreover, following completion of the bachelor’s degree programme, JKLU students have the option to leverage a 4+1 progression route under which students may apply for the Master’s degree programme at NTU in products and furniture design or graphic communication design, among other programmes.
Commenting on the partnership with NTU, Dr. Vijaysekhar Chellaboina, Vice Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University, said: “Through these academic pathways, our design students will benefit from international learning experiences, industry-oriented pedagogy, and enhanced opportunities for global careers.”

Wadhwani-Gates MoU
New delhi, May 20. Wadhwani Foundation and the Gates Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem through a National Innovation Network (NIN), an extension of the Wadhwani Innovation Network (WIN).
The partnership will enable transformative research and entrepreneurial innovation in areas of high societal impact including health, nutrition, biotechnology, genomics, medtech, and other emerging sectors aligned with India’s development priorities. Under the MoU, Gates Foundation will support five NIN Centres of Excellence (CoEs) over five years, beginning with two centres this year. The supported NIN COEs will help researchers advance innovations beyond laboratory-stage research.
Since its launch, WIN has supported over 50 high-potential projects across healthtech, medtech, biotechnology, and quantum technologies, and established CoEs in top-ranked institutions including IIT-Bombay, IIT-Madras, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Hyderabad, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, and Indian Institute of Science.
“This MoU will support these innovations by investing in translational pathways that can enable India’s research talent to move ideas from discovery to deployment. We see this as core to the Gates Foundation’s work in India,” said Archna Vyas, Director, India Gates Foundation, speaking on the occasion. NIN aims to establish 250 CoEs across India over the next three-five years through partner host institutions, she added.
