The Garodia International Centre for Learning, Mumbai (GICLM) hosted its annual Global University Fair 2026 on August 7, bringing together more than 100 leading universities and institutions from around the world. With participation from universities across the USA, UK, Canada, India, Australia, Switzerland, France, Ireland, Italy, Germany, and beyond, the fair offered students a truly global perspective on higher education.
Students and parents from Grades 8 to 12 had the opportunity to interact directly with university representatives and explore undergraduate programmes, admission requirements, scholarships, internships, campus experiences, and career pathways. These conversations allowed students to gain first-hand insights and make more informed decisions about their future academic journeys.
The fair also featured special sessions designed to broaden students’ understanding of emerging higher education pathways.
The event was supported by the school leadership team including the Head of School, the IBDP coordinator and the school IBDP counsellors whose continued guidance and support play an important role in creating meaningful university guidance opportunities for GICLM students.
Comments Nishant Garodia, managing director, Garodia Education, “The IBDP encourages students to think beyond boundaries, and their university journey should be no different. By bringing universities from across the world to our campus, we are creating a space where students can explore new possibilities, engage with different perspectives and envision the many pathways open to them.”
A special session titled “India’s New Gateway to Global Higher Education” explored the growing presence of new-age Indian universities as well as international universities’ campuses in India and the opportunities they offer students seeking a global education closer to home.
The session featured Arpit Ajmera, senior outreach manager for the University of Aberdeen’s Mumbai Campus and Reetika Vadgaonkar from Eruditus along with the university guidance counsellor at GICLM. The discussion highlighted institutions including the University of Bristol Mumbai Enterprise Campus, University of Aberdeen Mumbai, University of Liverpool Bangalore, University of York Mumbai, Illinois Tech Mumbai, and Victoria University Delhi NCR.
The session provided students and parents with insights into internationally recognised programmes, global curricula, industry exposure, international mobility, and emerging career opportunities through international universities based in India.
Talking about the university fair, GICLM’s principal Ian Davies said, “Choosing a university is one of the most significant decisions a young person makes. Our university fair provides IBDP students with the opportunity to engage with institutions from around the world, understand different academic pathways and make informed decisions about a future that reflects both their ambitions and their potential.”
Another engaging session focused on the evolving landscape of Liberal Arts education. Titled “The Future of Learning: Liberal Education and Holistic Development,” the session was led by Neha Modi, senior manager – admissions outreach at FLAME University.
The session introduced students to the philosophy of liberal education and the importance of developing critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, communication skills, creativity, and a broad understanding of the world. It encouraged students to look beyond conventional academic pathways and consider how a multidisciplinary education can prepare them for an increasingly dynamic future.
Together, these sessions complemented the university fair by encouraging students to explore not only where they might study, but also how they want to learn and what kind of future they aspire to build.
More than just a university fair, the event provided students with an opportunity to explore, question, compare, and reflect on their future pathways. It reinforced GICLM’s commitment to empowering students to make informed choices and confidently navigate the diverse opportunities available in global higher education.
The GICLM Global University Fair 2026 was a meaningful step in helping students move from curiosity to informed decision-making as they shape their academic and career journeys.
