A 15-year-old girl from Odisha, who had gone missing from her hometown, was traced in Bengaluru after police teams from both states worked together to locate her.
The girl’s family had reported her missing, following which Odisha Police began an investigation to track her whereabouts. During the course of the probe, officials found indications that she had travelled to Bengaluru. Based on the information received, local police authorities were alerted and efforts were made to locate her.
The teenager was subsequently found in Bengaluru and taken into police care. Officials stated that she was safe and that necessary procedures, including recording her statement and completing formalities, were being carried out before she could be reunited with her family.
Police are investigating the circumstances under which the girl left her home and are examining whether any person was involved in influencing or assisting her. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
The case highlights the role of coordination between police departments across states in tracing missing children and ensuring their safe return.
