A day after the Central Board for Secondary Education released the re-valuation results for the class 12 board examination, many students have claimed that they have not been awarded marks even for correct answers to multiple-choice questions.
CBSE declared the revaluation results on Sunday for students who applied for verification and re-evaluation of their Class 12 board exam answer sheets, with over 87 per cent of the applications announced in the “first phase”.
While the board assured students that every application was processed through a “robust, transparent, and carefully monitored system”, social media is replete with posts from students claiming that they have not been awarded marks despite writing correct responses (those which tally with board-released answer keys) to multiple-choice questions.
Ankitesh Verma, a social media user took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and said, “My answer sheet has not been evaluated properly. Four of my MCQ answers are correct, but their marks have not been awarded. Marks have also not been given appropriately for my written answers.”
Another social media user posted a photo of the scanned answer sheet and the answer keys to explain the challenge. Despite the answer keys’ response matching the student’s answer script in the MQCs section, the student has not been awarded marks. “Have some shame CBSE and the education minister of India. Fake promises and unfair revaluation. My marks didn’t even increase in MCQ question despite correct options,” said Brajesh Mishra.
Results awaited
While the board said that 87% of the revaluation process was completed, parents of those students who are yet to receive the evaluated sheets are a concerned lot.
“The admissions in all colleges are ending. Why is 13% still pending. It is a question of a student availing admission for higher education. The CBSE should immediately clear the pending 13%,” urged a parent.
Rajeev, another user wrote, “While we understand the phased rollout, leaving 13% class 12 revaluation results ‘under process’ with a vague ‘soon’ without a clear ETA is deeply concerning. College admission deadlines are closing right now. Requesting a swift, transparent resolution. #CBSEResults.”
