A 59-year-old government school teacher allegedly died by suicide on Sunday in Nirbhampura village of Rajasthan’s Alwar district, police said. A suicide note recovered from the spot reportedly mentions mental harassment by school staff among the reasons for his distress.
The deceased, identified as Baddan Lal Balai, had been serving at the Government Senior Secondary School in Dhelawas for around 25 years and was due to retire in five months. He was found hanging in a tin shed at a cattle enclosure approximately 100 metres from his residence.
Akbarpur Station House Officer Seema Sinsinwar said the body was shifted to the Alwar district hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted on Monday.
According to police, a four-page note allegedly cited prolonged illness, excessive workload, pressure related to examinations and panchayat election duties, and lack of cooperation and mental harassment by colleagues. Relevant documents have been seized.
A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the family, and further investigation is underway.
