Ryan Group of Institutions has launched a year-long sustainability campaign to plant one million saplings across India in partnership with Rotary International.
The initiative was announced as Ravishankar Dakoju assumed office as District Governor 3192 of Rotary International. The campaign was flagged off at NMKRV College in Bengaluru and will be carried out across Ryan campuses in Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Mumbai, Delhi, Surat, Bolpur, Kochi and Chennai during the 2026–27 academic year.
According to the institution, the programme will extend beyond a one-day plantation activity, with saplings to be planted, nurtured and monitored throughout the year across its schools.
Ryan Pinto, CEO of Ryan Group of Institutions, said the initiative reflected the vision of the group’s founder, Dr A.F. Pinto, that education should extend beyond classrooms and into community service. He said the plantation drive aimed to contribute to a greener future while encouraging students to adopt sustainable practices.
The partnership between Ryan Group and Rotary International will also focus on three other initiatives. These include the Water for the Voiceless programme to promote awareness about providing water for animals, the establishment of Interact Clubs in Ryan schools to encourage student-led community service, and efforts to support access to education in tribal schools.
Ravishankar Dakoju said the collaboration aligned with the shared objective of creating community impact through environmental action and student participation.
Ryan Group said it aims to complete the plantation of one million saplings across the country before June 2027.
