Shekhar Suman has launched SSFA (Shekhar Suman Film Academy), an acting institute aimed at training actors and storytellers for the current media landscape.
The academy will offer a three-month acting programme designed and conducted by Suman, with support from industry professionals through masterclasses. The curriculum covers voice, speech, body awareness, camera performance, character development and on-set practice, along with exposure to the Linklater Voice Method and film language. The course will conclude with a student film project.
Suman said the academy is intended to pass on his experience and approach to performance to aspiring actors through a structured training environment.
SSFA has been founded with Dharmesh Sangani, with GBM Studios as the umbrella brand. Adhyayan Suman serves as Founder and Director, while Ekant Babani oversees operations.
The academy is open to applicants without prior training, with selection based on a self-audition process. Registrations for the inaugural batch are open on the academy’s official website.
