“Sports do not just build character—they reveal it.” This personal motto truly defines the spirit of JBCN, where sport is an integral part of our EduCreative learning experience. While academics remain at the core of education, we believe that an active body sharpens the mind—and abundant evidence supports this belief.
Research consistently shows a strong link between regular physical activity and improved academic performance among children and adolescents. Physical activity enhances brain regions responsible for memory, executive function, attention, and emotional regulation, enabling learners to perform better academically. Yet, in India, adolescents average only 16 minutes of daily activity—far below the WHO-recommended 60 minutes—highlighting the urgency of integrating sport meaningfully into schooling.
Across the country, schools are increasingly embedding sport as a pillar of holistic education, recognizing its vital role in developing both cognitive and socio-emotional skills. Structured physical activity, diverse sports offerings, and competitive opportunities at local, national, and international levels are empowering students with fitness, resilience, teamwork, leadership, and discipline—skills essential for life beyond the classroom. Importantly, inclusive sports programs that promote participation among young women are ensuring that every learner benefits from the life lessons sport instills.
At JBCN, sport is not an extracurricular activity—it is part of our DNA. Through competition, practice, and perseverance, learners internalize resilience, embrace teamwork, and learn to lead with confidence. Our Talent Development Programme nurtures sporting excellence from an early age. Learners have access to mainstream sports such as football, basketball, cricket, and athletics, as well as Olympic and emerging disciplines including fencing and pickleball—sports that hold exciting future potential.
Sports at JBCN are for everyone, across all boundaries of gender and ability. With over 350 young women athletes across our schools, we take pride in nurturing their strength, resilience, and leadership both on and off the field. Sports are seamlessly integrated into the school timetable, not treated as a weekly add-on. Signature events like the IB Cricket Championship, global and local sports edu-tours, and competitive exposure at various levels provide platforms for learners to shine.
We are immensely proud of our learners’ achievements:
- Tiya Chopra (IBDP 1) – Gold medalist in 400m, shot put, and 100m hurdles at the ISSO National Games; qualified for the 67th School Games Federation of India (SGFI); ranked 10th nationally (U-17, 400m); represented India at the International School Sports Federation (ISF) Games in Bahrain.
- Shivay Dalal – Named Player of the Series during the UK cricket tour organized by North Academy; leading wicket-taker with two half-centuries; previously earned the same title in three of five IB School Cricket Championships.
- Zia Sanghvi – State-level gold medalist in shot put (Girls U-10), securing 1st position in Maharashtra.

At JBCN, we do more than coach athletes—we nurture changemakers. By institutionalizing sport, providing high-quality coaching, top-notch infrastructure, and structured competition, we bridge the gap between potential and performance.
Every day, we see what research affirms: sport sharpens the mind, strengthens character, and enhances overall well-being. At JBCN, we are committed to giving every learner the opportunity to sprint, soar, compete, and grow—not just on the field, but in every aspect of life.
