Two talented students from Shri Govind Hari Singhania Centre for Advanced Learning – The Skill School at Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre (SPSEC), Kanpur proudly represented the city at the prestigious two-day international conference titled “Legacy of Ramanujan: Inspiring Mathematics and Future Generations,” held on March 7 & 8, 2026 at SGT University.
The conference, organised under the joint collaboration of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and SGT University, brought together eminent mathematicians, academicians, and scholars from across India and abroad to deliberate on the enduring legacy of India’s mathematical heritage.
During the Mathematics Exhibition held as part of the conference, the young participants captivated the audience with their remarkable mathematical abilities. Devika Tripathi impressed scholars by instantly constructing magic squares based on any given date of birth, while Krishav Agarwal demonstrated exceptional speed and precision by solving 50 mathematical questions in just four minutes. Both students, learners of Vedic Mathematics under the mentorship of Dr. Rakesh Bhatia, have already earned recognition in the International Book of Records, reflecting their extraordinary aptitude and dedication to mathematical learning.
In appreciation of their outstanding performance, the students were felicitated during the conference. Distinguished dignitaries present—including Dr. Atul Kothari; Prof. Pankaj Mittal; and Prof. Hemant Verma—applauded the achievements of the young scholars and commended the institution’s efforts in nurturing talent while reviving interest in the profound traditions of Indian mathematics.

A cornerstone of the Skill School’s innovative learning ecosystem is the Vedic Mathematics Lab, developed in collaboration with the Mathematics Department of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur. The lab represents a visionary effort to integrate ancient Indian mathematical wisdom with modern pedagogy. Through the study of Vedic sutras and advanced mental calculation techniques, students develop remarkable computational fluency, analytical reasoning, and mathematical confidence. The initiative aligns closely with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020, which emphasises the integration of India’s knowledge systems into contemporary education.
The achievements of Devika and Krishav stand as inspiring examples of the transformative outcomes emerging from this innovative educational model. Their success highlights how the thoughtful integration of heritage knowledge with modern scientific learning can nurture confident thinkers, agile problem-solvers, and young ambassadors of India’s intellectual legacy.
These accomplishments also reflect the broader educational vision of the Skill School—an innovative centre designed to cultivate future-ready competencies through experiential and interdisciplinary learning. Each specialised lab within the Skill School functions as a vibrant hub of creativity and exploration. From the Robotics Lab, where students design RoboDogs, UAVs, and automation systems in collaboration with the Students’ Gymkhana of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, to the Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing Lab where learners prototype sustainable products using advanced CAD tools, students are provided meaningful opportunities to engage with emerging technologies and real-world innovation.
