Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is celebrating its 575th anniversary this year. Interest from Indian students is strong across all four colleges, with 41% choosing programmes in the College of Social Sciences, followed by the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences (30%), the College of Science and Engineering (25%), and the College of Arts and Humanities (5%).

Financial Support for Indian Students
To ensure access and affordability, the University of Glasgow offers a wide range of scholarships and bursaries for Indian students, including:
- Adam Smith Business School Indian Achievers Award (exclusive to Indian nationals) – Open to Indian applicants for all eligible ASBS PGT programmes, this award offers a £15,000 tuition fee discount to support future business leaders in achieving their ambitions.
- World Changers Excellence Scholarship – £10,000 per year for exceptional undergraduate candidates applying to Science programmes and £7,000 per year for Social Science and Arts programmes.
- World Changers Glasgow Scholarship – An automatic £5,000 discount for postgraduate taught students.
- Global Leadership Scholarship – A £10,000 competitive award for exceptional Master’s candidates.
The University also provides a Cost of Living Hub, complete with budgeting tools and emergency support, to help students manage their finances while studying in the UK. Additionally, students under 22 can enjoy free bus travel throughout Scotland, making everyday life even more affordable.
Career and Employability
With 95% of University of Glasgow graduates securing employment or progressing to further study within 15 months of graduating, the University places a strong emphasis on employability. - Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru, Science Gallery Bengaluru, Ashoka University, and O.P. Jindal Global University
- Industry partners including Biocon, Tata Consultancy Services, and Apollo Tyres
- A collaboration with Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur to establish a Veterinary Hospital and School, scheduled to open in 2026
- Joint degrees in Computing Science with UPES University of Tomorrow
These alliances create opportunities for student exchanges, seed funding for joint research, and innovative teaching collaborations — enabling Indian students to engage with cutting-edge global research networks.
An example of this collaboration is the MSc Industrial Biotechnology programme, delivered in partnership with Biocon. The programme includes a work placement at Biocon’s facilities in Bengaluru, giving students hands-on experience within one of the world’s most dynamic biotechnology industries.
