The University of Glasgow will host its first India-based Open Day in Bengaluru on Saturday 28 February, offering prospective students and their families an opportunity to explore study options at the institution.
Founded in 1451, the University recently marked its 575th anniversary. A member of the Russell Group, it is ranked among the world’s top 100 universities and attracts students from across India.
According to the University, 91 per cent of Indian graduates in employment secure graduate-level roles within 15 months of completing their studies. Alumni have progressed to organisations including Barclays, EY, KPMG, JPMorgan Chase, BP, LinkedIn and Cancer Research Horizons.
Recent graduate Yashika Kumar, who completed a Master’s in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry, said she undertook a summer internship with Professor Lee Cronin, working on projects combining chemistry, mechanics and machine learning, including coding experiments to digitise chemistry.
Alumna and film producer Rakasree Basu said the University provided an academic environment that supported long-term professional development and international collaboration.
The Open Day will enable attendees to meet academic staff and admissions specialists, explore programmes across four colleges – Arts & Humanities; Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences; Science & Engineering; and Social Sciences – and receive information on scholarships, funding and career pathways.
Professor Rachel Sandison, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement), said the event would provide an opportunity for prospective students to engage directly with academics and learn more about studying at the University.
Registration is required to attend the Open Day. Further information is available on the University’s website.
